VIDEO: Civil Rights Icon Robert Woodson on the ‘War on Poverty’ and Reparations

“What racism and Jim Crow could not destroy–the poverty programs of the ’60s decimated the black community, and gave us what we have today,” said civil rights icon Robert Woodson, at a virtual reparations forum co-hosted by Defend American Ideals yesterday.

Woodson, founder of the Woodson Center, had been asked to assess the likely results of any reparations legislation in light of President Lyndon Johnson’s “War on Poverty.”

Titled the “Rise of Reparations,” the virtual discussion was co-sponsored with the Pacific Legal Foundation and the Pacific Research Institute.
